Ongoing project Holmenkollen SkiJump by JDS Architects

Oslo will have a recreative landmark soon. Architect Julien de Smedt and its agency JDS Architects will offer much more than a ski jump. It will be an amazing slope articulating three stages of visibility: the far-away panorama, the close-up at the foot of the slope, and the view outward from the top.

This slope will be equipped with a wind protection profile being used and offset in a parallel manner downward so that it forms a smooth bended rectangle housing the slope, the main elevators and the top in-run program.

The top of this project will be sliced horizontally and the knoll building will be moved further up the hill to serve as an anchor point for the structure letting it cantilever in order to avoid visually disruptive structural supports.
